endurance training – more good news

BBC News has a piece on the anti-aging affects of long-term endurance training that will get anyone to sit up and listen.  They noticed changes at the cellular level as the result of aging that was much slower and less pronounced in athletes with a history of endurance training and sports.

diet + exercise stave off mental decline

We talked about John Ratey and his book Spark, so we’ve hit on this topic before.  BUt I just saw this article recently and thought it was worth posting.

The emphasis on the diet side of the equation is of a mediterranean diet full of fruits and veggies.  Check!  And secondly engaging in a regular exercise program.  Check!
